Useless!Reviewed by Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak, 2010-03-04
I hate this light. Mine stopped working properly right after I bought it five years ago. It turns on really dim and you have to shake it around to get it to light fully, and then it'll only stay bright if you're lucky. Sometimes it just goes out completely. Nothing much more annoying than a flashlight that doesn't stay on. Stuffing tin foil between the batteries seemed to help a little.
Great lightReviewed by Bemace, 2010-02-18
This flashlight has a lot going for it. Small, light weight, tough,
and waterproof. The LED will last essentially forever, so you don't
have to worry about spare bulbs. It's bright enough to find our way
in the dark, casting useful, if not extremely bright light out to
about 20'. It's really meant to be a utility/work light for getting
into small spaces so you can see what you're doing though, and for
that it's excellent. It's a good balance of brightness and battery
life. Even under heavy use the batteries should last a week or two,
versus maybe one day with many larger flashlights. My only
complaint is that there's no outward indication of the LED color,
so if you have more than one there's no way to tell which is which
without turning them on.
If you want a small, long lasting light, you can buy this without
hesitation. If you want a brighter (and shorter battery life)
light, check out it's big brother: Streamlight 66118 Stylus Pro
Black LED Pen Flashlight with Holster.
AAAAReviewed by Klehlyn L. Mccord, 2010-01-29
firstly, i dont own this but the concept is amazing for the
price.
obviously, anything with a non-marking tip can be a stylus.
anything that wont scratch or mark on the screens of pdas and such.
however the LED feature is to die for. basically because i would
never go and buy AAAA batteries from some highdollar store, nor
order them online. the trick people is a 9V batterypack. simply
take some pliers and pull the hard shell off of a 9V and you have 6
AAAA in your hand. they're unmarked, sadly so you need to do a
voltage test OR just trace the polarity as they are in the package,
it's pretty obvious with each cell connected end to end.
Caution: "Silver" model doesn't look like the pictureReviewed by A Customer, 2009-12-20
The silver model is no longer a nice shiny finish.
It is now halfway between shiny and that crummy metallic light gray
plastic which is called "silver" when used on cell phones. It's
still a metal tube, but it looks cheap.
The pocket clip is a darker color now, I guess so they can use the
same color clip for all models.
It's no less functional, but if all you want is function, and not
appearance, there are more practical flashlights available which
take AAA batteries instead of the slim AAAA batteries.
I've bought four!Reviewed by Techthusiast, 2009-12-11
I love these things.
I got a couple of the green LED to preserve night vision and these
white LED ones just to be "normal" ;)
It's tough: LED/light technology is just out of this world ... you
can get amazing/blinding beams (pro/con) for cheap and I'll as
often go to my keychain light.
But the nice thing about this little baton is that it's SOLID and
looks serious... seems like the correct tool for pros in the
medical or tech fields...or if you're a hunter hahha.
It feels great in the hand and I always keep one in my satchel or
glovebox.
Decent throw, good light... if you're an uber-light geek, this
won't replace anything you've got based on lux-capacity ;) It's the
form and function of it, the warranty, and just your obsession with
having every kind of light that would lead you to pick up one of
these.
I still think I'd get the green LED lights to rationalize getting
more of these since I have so many lights already. I gave one to my
buddy who has a newborn in case it helps him move around the room
without disturbing his munchkin... who knows if it'll work that way
;)
